Youth Civil Society Organizations are viewed as significant actors in attaining Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG 11). Nevertheless, some literature views them as weak and less contributory to the SDG process. Little is known about the alignment of their initiatives to SDG 11 targets. Thus, their role in the SDG process still needs to be discovered. This study fills the gap by examining their initiatives and alignment with SDG 11 targets. Specifically, it explored their characteristics regarding accreditation, community development initiatives, and sources of funds. It also assessed the alignment of their initiatives to SDG 11 targets. This study utilized a qualitative approach and employed semi-structured interviews, document analysis, rubrics, and thematic analysis to gather and interpret data. Findings identified two categories of their accreditation—government and private— and highlighted eight themes on their community development initiatives, which strongly focus on education, community outreach, health, social inclusion, environment, leadership, disaster response, and livelihood. These initiatives were funded from diverse sources such as City Government funding, donations, sponsorships, membership fees, and income-generating projects. All their initiatives were found to be aligned with almost all the ten targets of SDG 11, emphasizing their integral role in promoting sustainable cities and communities.
