The name Florentino H. Hornedo is a byword among us his former students in history who had drank from his cup of knowledge. An iconic legend, he is revered and fondly remembered for the noble deeds he had done in the service of the University’s Graduate School task of honing the students’ minds to become professional historians, teachers or critical students of history. Today we are gathered to pay homage to the “Renaissance man,” whose vast knowledge in the humanities and the social sciences he shared through passionate teaching, pioneering research and scholarly writings that had benefitted not only the academe but the country as well.
